OUR LIVESTOCK
We keep cattle for beef and sheep for lamb and mutton on the farm. We strongly believe in conserving rare breed animals and therefore look to keep native, primitive breeds.

Currently, we have two herds of cattle, White Park and Traditional Hereford. We have breeding flocks of Castlemilk Moorit, Manx Loaghtan, Llanwenog sheep.

OUR BREEDS
MANX LOAGHTAN

Manx Loaghtan sheep originate from the Isle of Man. They are a primitive breed and can grow up to six horns. We have a small flock of these which graze in the paddocks of West Lavington.

CASTLEMILK MOORIT

Castlemilk Moorit sheep are one of the bigger breeds of primitive sheep. We have a small group of seven ewes at the moment.

LLANWENOG

Llanwenog come from West Wales. They have a thick white fleece and a characteristic white tuft above their head. They are well suited to harsh upland conditions but also make the most of richer lowland pastures. They are a versatile breed.

LLEYN

Lleyn sheep originate from the Llyn peninsula in Wales and are suited to both upland and lowland grazing. They make excellent mothers, are quiet in nature and have good white wool.

WHITE PARKS

This is a very old breed of cattle which has been kept for more than 2000 years. A late maturing animal which produces well marbled beef. We have 30 of these beautiful animals.

TRADITIONAL HEREFORD

Our Herefords are Original Population and produce beautiful beef off grass. Our herd consists of 15 cows which we hope to build up to 30. They graze Salisbury Plain army training ground.
